As a volunteer run club, we couldn't do anything without the support of our members in running day-to-day events or organising things behind the scenes. We roster duties for race officer and safety cover, those that race will typically be expected to do one duty per race series that they enter, allocation of which is managed by the Rear Commodore via the dutyman system. Instructing on a training course counts as part of your allocation. 

All members aged over 16, who sail, will be expected to help with DUTIES on the water such as OD AOD SO and ASO. Usually 4 Duties per year is the norm. If you don't sail, you won't be expected to help on the water but we always welcome volunteers to assist behind the bar or in the galley.
